How to delete your account
- 1Sign in to Penpal America.
- 2Open Settings/Profile.
- 3Go to Privacy and account controls.
- 4Choose Delete account.
- 5Enter your password and type "DELETE" to confirm permanent deletion.

Delete Your Account
Penpal America lets users request permanent account deletion from inside the app. This page explains the steps, the types of data normally deleted, and the limited cases where some records may be retained.
Data normally deleted
- Account profile details such as username, bio, location, country, interests, languages, settings, and account preferences.
- Profile photo, gallery media, verification requests, and user-uploaded account media where deletion is technically and legally available.
- Friend, conversation, notification, blocked-user, and account relationship data tied to the deleted account.
- Authentication data and active sessions for the deleted account.
Data that may be retained
Some information may be kept for a limited period where required or permitted by law, platform safety, or legitimate business needs.
- Records that must be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, payment, or chargeback reasons.
- Safety, moderation, abuse-prevention, report, and enforcement records needed to protect users and comply with law.
- Limited backup copies until they expire through normal backup rotation.
- Anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies the deleted user.
